WE ALL KNOW: Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
We all know: Sanctions worked so well against North Korea that the result was they have atomic bombs and ICBMs to boot.
We all know: Sanctions worked so well against Iran that the result was they are now 60-90 days from making atom bombs and they have developed IRBMs to boot.
We all know: Sanctions worked so well against Russia that they swallowed CRIMEA. FURTHER SANCTIONS then worked so well that now Russia invaded the rest of Ukraine.
WE ALL KNOW: That all NATO nations will do at their meeting is “more” and they insanely will expect different results.
This Insanity is what we otherwise call Obsessive – Compulsive Disorder in “ordinary” individuals. Pity the West with OCD leaders.
Politicians Biden et al have such obsessive anxiety about doing anything “escalatory” that all they can do is compulsively escalate their “sanctions” language.

Pay a price for war – instead of starting world war III; “further sanctions on Russia and tightening the existing sanctions to crack down on evasion and to ensure robust enforcement”, “set out a longer term game plan”, Punishing New Sanctions, ad nauseum!
