Does a reading of the Interview Statement of NY Times Op-Ed Editor Mr. Dao lead one to infer that the NYT does not know “for a fact” who “Anonymous” is?
1. “The Op-Ed article was submitted to Times opinion editors last week through an intermediary, Mr. Dao said.”
2. So the NYT had no direct contact with “Anonymous” !
3. So is the intermediary both the info source and the verification source of the NYT being “…confident that they were who they said they were,” [Mr. Dao] said.” ?
4. Is this not analogous to one important criticism of the Steele Dossier – that the intermediary, Steele, is both the info source and the verification source ?
Huh? Kind’a sticks in your craw.
